Bob Kiger's Assets

61 years old now . . . healthy male with balanced talent profile. According to USAF testing, at age 17, I rated in the top 5% in General, Mechanical, Electronic and Administrative categories. I believe that I have built on that (balanced) foundation over the ensuing 43 years.

Injured in the line of duty for severe back injury - I had lumbar lamanectomy(s) in 1967 & again in 1985. Since then I believe I have found a formula for overcoming back pain. Maintaining good posture and learning how to lift weight has helped me to revitalize my spine. Learning to live a low stress life is the key to maintaining alignment and that takes a lot of effort in this world of ours.

In 1982, on the island of Maui, I became known as "Cruiser Bob" for the bicycle tours down the volcano which I originated.

What I did not anticipate in this tropical paradise was the stress of having to deal with people falling down on my bike tours and than suing me and trying to blame me and my company for their misfortune, in order to collect an insurance payooff. The stress of constant lawsuits took its toll on me. I suffered three nervous breakdowns during my 13 years on Maui and was diagnosed as bipolar.

Combining the chronic back pain and the bipolar diagnosis, I was permanently retired by Social Security at age 55. I since had a heart attack triggered by the breakup with my former fiance'. In my experience, stress is a leading cause of mental and physical disease.

I was very lucky to have had my heart attack while on the premises of the Veterans Administration Medical Center in San Diego. After triple bypass surgery, I learned a huge amount about the mind/body connection and now vigorously monitor my health. It is my goal to live to age 100.

I have a full medical care program through the VA. If there is a working model for National Health Care, it is the VA system. My retirement package includes VA Benefits for Service Disability, a small pension from the Directors Guild of America and Social Security Disability. This combination allows me to live a comfortable but minimal lifestyle.

I believe with all my heart that Americans have gone off track into the realm of materialism. To me "less is more" especially if what we possess is of high quality. Good preventive maintenance practices are important for all life systems. I also believe that "if it is worth having . . . it is worth taking care of" and that includes our relationship.

Communication is extremely vital to any relationship. Harboring old wounds leads to disasters, so I am looking for a mate who will match my communication skills.

I was educated at Rochester Institute of Technology, where I received a BS in Professional Photography (cum laude) in 1970.

Professionally, I have always been an entrepreneur and, during my lifetime, created two major world industries, which now generate revenues in the hundreds of millions of dollars. These two industries are videography and downhill bicycle tours. I do not receive any royalties for these industries . . . but do enjoy some status as the "father" of both. Cultivating & guiding how these industries fit into the social order of things is what I refer to as my "legacy projects". I hope that my Grandson, Garrett will always love and be proud of "Grandpa Bob".

My philosophy of life is self designed and extremely simple.

GRAVITATE TOWARDS QUALITY
CONSERVE ANGULAR MOMENTUM
VID to BALANCE/HARMONY

I am a straight shooter and, if I make comment on a situation, it is from the heart, not for power. Political correctness (PC) could just as easily be Power Corrupts. Like so many Baby Boomers I have been married more than once. In my case three times. The first marriage lasted 7 years and produced two wonderful children (Randi & Robby). Their mother has been remarried for many years and we are close friends. The second marriage was a shadow and is long gone from my life. My third wife and travelmate of only two years died tragically of ovarian cancer in 1992. She asked to be remembered as a "sensible curly redhead" and so she was/is.

I am very affectionate, loyal and passionate. Spending nature time with my significant other will always be a high priority.

Earlier I mentioned minimalism. Having read this far, you know that I live my single life in a classic 1966 Airstream Safari Coach, near the beach in Oceanside, California. In addition I have "tricked out" a 1973 Ford CamperVan with all the "Mod-Cons" for extended traveling to tropical and semi-tropical destinations. I love my classic "toys". They are the magic carpet that enables me to enjoy the great American Southwest, Baja and coastal Mexico.

WHAT I AM LOOKING FOR IN A TRAVELMATE

I enjoy positive mental stimulation so she should be very bright. She should be healthy and careful about maintaining a healthy body and mind. No drug dependencies please!

Travel is important to me, my mate should be free of attachments, thereby allowing extended travel . . . two or three months at a clip.

Being practical such time may not be available to us at first . . . but would be a goal. In the mean time shorter trips around America's Southwest and Mexico (especially Baja) will give us the headspace we need to keep clear of the techno cluster that clouds our society.

My lady should be between 50 and 60, petite, well turned and young at heart! Sexy is good . . . preoccupied with one's sexuality is not good.

She is by nature as loyal as I am. Loyalty is the mortar that holds relationships together in our complex society. She should be a great team player applying her considerable talents to our mutually developed goals. Working together we can do wonderful things and weather any storm.

She should have sufficient income to cover her own health care, dental and personal lifestyle expenses. Together we will find the right formula for a great life together.

I am willing to "divide my life by two" for the right woman. Marriage is fine, after a reasonable courtship and time together.

She should have a wide variety of intellectual, cultural and recreational interests.

She should have no other relationships that would call her loyalty to question. A fine family life is a plus but not a requirement. I am quite a loner but cherish my friends and family.

She should be passionate and love a wonderful sex life.

She is a natural romantic, loves music and nature and will learn to love me with all her heart.

GENERAL CONCEPTS

I currently enjoy a wonderful and productive life with a minimal overhead. My travelmate will appreciate what I've built and will be eager to add her experience and assets to our joint holdings.

I am not interested in increasing my overhead, but will participate in a rational plan to share lifestyles, if my travelmate has a favorite place to be. Cold weather is a turn-off for me. I'm a tropical kind of guy.

I love my videography projects and would be most happy with a partner who is beautiful enough to be in front of the cameras and brainy enough to direct behind the camera. Any creativity is a big plus. Web design, music and perfoming arts are some (of many) valuable and highly coveted skills.

I would freely share my family and friends with my mate and would hope to be accepted into her family and circle of friends.

I have gone to great lengths to publish my writings on the internet and before we get too far along, would like my mate to have read and commented on www.cruiserbob.com - www.videographyblog.com & www.vidiots.us (a personal blog where I share my insights.

I believe in "Better Living through Chemistry" and when I cross paths with my travelmate/soulmate the chemistry will be palpable in the first five minutes. This leaves the rest of our lives to develop a deep friendship and a fine affair.

If my notions are of interest . . . and you would like to explore our potential e-mail bob@cruiserbob.com

I will treat all messages confidentially and with respect.

Aloha,
